Criminal:
DUI/Criminal Matters/Traffic/CDL
We also handle an extensive criminal defense caseload, including DUI (OVI), suspended licenses, and misdemeanor and felony offenses of all kinds.
DUI's are fairly common. If you have a doubt about your ability to drive - don't. The use
of roadside sobriety checks is increasing. First offense DUI penalties are tough: a minimum of
three days in jail or a Driver Intervention Program (DIP), a fine between $375- $1,000.00,
loss of driving privileges for six months (no occupationals for the first 15 days (first offense),
a license reinstatement fee exceeding $400 and other sanctions.
A high alcohol level may result in actual jail time, driving privileges with restricted
plates, and an ignition interlock system. A second and subsequent offenses result
in more jail time and less driving privileges.
If you are charged with a DUI, contact our office to schedule an appointment immediately -
we can even conduct our first interview over the phone if necessary. We can review the
circumstances of your arrest, determine whether state regulations were followed in the
administration of a breath test, and make sure you know all the options to make an important
decision.
We can also help you obtain temporary driving privileges.
Misdemeanors and Felonies:
We also represent clients charged with a wide range of felonies and misdemeanor offenses, including domestic violence, drug trafficking, theft and burglary, and other offenses which can lead to jail time, fines, loss of driving privileges and loss of your right to carry a firearm
Traffic cases, speeding, license suspension and CDL
We also represent everyone from truckers to soccer moms on regular traffic offenses, including speeding and infractions that can result in points, license suspensions and CDL suspensions.
Expungement:
Under limited situations, a person convicted of a criminal offense may be entitled to seek an expungement of that conviction. If you have been convicted of a non-violent offense and more than 12 months have passed, you may be able to have your conviction expunged.
